![]() There are no real GOOD messages but there aren't BAD messages either. My father told me that some things in this movie that the actors did were to dangerous to do in the U.S, so INDONESIA ROCKS!!!!! Let's move on to the content. I tried to look up how to choreograph a fight scene, some moves that I could do, and how to film it. AWESOME CHOREOGRAPHY! After I watched the movie, I wanted to make fight scenes with all of my friends. This movie introduced me to something called. The Raid: Redemption is my favorite action film, tied with The Raid 2: Berandal. If you're an action fan, I'm sure you'll love this movie!! Also: Iko Uwais kicks ass as the hero Rama!! There is a lot of violence and some blood, as well as some swearing which includes a use of the C-word (all in subtitles, as this is an Indonesian movie), so I'd recommend this film for ages 15 and up. One thing I hate in non-romantic movies (especially action movies) is romance, I think it's horribly overdone and a stupid, soppy and repetitive gimmick made just so couples can go and watch the movie, which could also be said as NO REASON AT ALL!! It's just stupid, cringy and horrible, so I was pleased to find that there is very little romance here. Great thing is, there's not that much room to breathe for all the people who like pauses for breath! The action here is simply breathtaking. The action is awesomely done as well, I loved how constant the action is in this movie. Constant action in this movie, which goes from suspense to shootout to fight to shootout to fight to shootout to fight.Whew, I think I need to take a breath. This is an AWESOME MOVIE!!! There is non-stop, entertaining action throughout, and this is one damn hell of a thrill ride. At all.The Raid is one of the greatest action movies I've ever seen. Plus, I literally just watched it and don't know the main character's name. I would like to have seen them use the furniture to their advantage. Also some fight scenes in rooms have all the furniture right next to the walls, therefore leaving a massive open space for the fight. Any "twists" that were executed, were predictable and poorly constructed. I don't really want to dive into it for spoiler reasons but if our main character is in a tricky situation, something would always happen to get him out. My problems with the film are with the plot conveniences and predictability. The directing was good overall, not many quick cuts although the camera was particularly shaky during the first half. The bad guy in that scene is like the Indonesian Terminator, he just wouldn't die. I have never seen so much flipping, kicks to the head, jump punches and head smashes to the floor.in my life. INSANE! There is one scene where two good guys are against one bad guy (apologies for the bland description) that goes on for six minutes. The action is pretty relentless, well executed and rapid. "Ah! Ehh! Phwoarrr! Hai! Ohhh!".you get the gist. The residents did not stand a chance! Wham! Bam! Kapow! Swish! Slice! Followed by continuous noises as our characters fights to death. Thankfully though, the film turned around and our main character was battling his way through using only his body and knives. ![]() 40 minutes later, still no hand combat scenes.I was growing agitated. ![]() Bam! I was ready to sit back and watch a heck load of hand combat unfold. One minute in and our main character is punching, elbowing and kicking a sand bag at 100mph. I know this was released first but I couldn't get it out of my head! We follow a SWAT team who raid an apartment block in order to capture Pa-Pa, but the Pa-Pa clan aren't going to make it easy.(ok fine, no more Dredd references). The Raid is the Indonesian version of Dredd.
